Trackora Browser Extension — Track Packages Without Leaving Your Browser
The Trackora browser extension brings package tracking directly into Chrome. Instead of opening a new tab and navigating to the website, you can check your parcel status in seconds from the toolbar popup — no page loads, no detours. It connects to the same account and carrier database as the web app, so your saved parcels are always in sync across devices.
Extension Features
- Instant status popup — click the Trackora icon in the Chrome toolbar to see all your active parcels and their current status at a glance, without navigating away from the page you are on.
- Desktop notifications — the extension sends Chrome notifications when a parcel status changes, keeping you informed even when the browser tab is in the background.
- Quick-add from any page — highlight a tracking number on any shopping site (AliExpress, eBay, Amazon, CDEK) and use the right-click context menu to add it to Trackora without copying and pasting manually.
- 1,000+ carriers supported — the same carrier database powering the web app: AliExpress, China Post, DHL, FedEx, USPS, CDEK, Nova Poshta, PostNL and hundreds more.
- Full account sync — parcels you add via the extension appear in your Trackora dashboard on the web and mobile app, and vice versa, in real time.
How to Install the Trackora Extension
- Open the Chrome Web Store and search for Trackora, or follow the direct link from the install button on this page.
- Click Add to Chrome on the extension listing page.
- Review the permissions dialog showing what the extension requires, then click Add extension to confirm.
- The Trackora icon appears in your Chrome toolbar. Click it and sign in with your Trackora account credentials.
- Your saved parcels load immediately. From this point, every status change triggers a desktop notification automatically.
The extension is compatible with Chrome 100 and later, and with Chromium-based browsers including Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Opera. A Firefox version is planned for a future release.
Permissions the Extension Requests
Trackora requests only the permissions needed to deliver its functionality. No browsing history, cookies, or page content is ever read without your direct action.
- Notifications — required to send desktop alerts when a parcel status changes. Without this permission you can still view statuses in the popup, but you will not receive proactive alerts.
- Storage — stores your authentication token locally so you stay signed in between sessions. No parcel data is written locally; all parcel records live on the Trackora server.
- Context menus — adds the right-click "Add to Trackora" option so you can save a highlighted tracking number directly from any shopping page.
- Active tab (on explicit click only) — reads selected text on the current page only when you invoke the context menu action. The extension never reads page content automatically in the background.
Extension vs Web App — When to Use Each
The extension and web app complement each other. Use the extension for quick status checks and to catch status changes with desktop notifications. Use the full web app for the detailed delivery timeline, route map, and account management.
- Extension popup — instant overview of all active parcels in one click
- Extension context menu — add a tracking number from any page in two clicks
- Web app dashboard — full history, route map, labels, notes, and analytics
- Web app account settings — manage subscription, notifications, and API keys
- Mobile app — track on iOS and Android with push notifications
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Trackora extension free?
- Yes. The extension is free to install and use. Desktop notifications and the quick-add feature are available on the free plan. Unlimited parcels and priority updates require a Trackora Premium subscription, starting at $2.99/month.
- Does the extension work in Microsoft Edge, Brave, or Opera?
- Yes. Because Edge, Brave, and Opera are all built on Chromium, they support Chrome Web Store extensions. Open the Chrome Web Store in your Chromium-based browser and install Trackora exactly as you would in Chrome.
- Will the extension slow down my browser?
- No. Status checks happen on the same polling schedule as the web app — every 30 minutes for Premium, on-demand for free users. The extension does not inject scripts into web pages and has no measurable effect on page load speed.
- What happens to my data if I uninstall the extension?
- Your Trackora account and all saved parcels remain on the server. Uninstalling only removes the local copy of the extension and the stored authentication token. Reinstall at any time and sign back in to restore full access.
