Is your AliExpress package stuck on the same status for days? Tracking not updating for 2 weeks? This is one of the most common issues with orders from China. We cover all the reasons and give you specific solutions.
Reason 1: Tracking number just registered
After the seller creates a shipping label, it takes 24–72 hours before the first parcel scan. During this time, tracking shows only 'Created' or 'Label Created'.
Tip: Solution: wait 2–3 days after the tracking number appears in your order.
Reason 2: Parcel in international transit
The most common cause of tracking silence: your parcel is on a plane. There are no scans in the air. After departing China, it can take 10–20 days with no updates at all before arriving in the destination country.
Tip: Solution: if the last status is 'Departed from place of international exchange' — just wait. This is normal for budget airmail via China Post.
Reason 3: Parcel at customs
Customs clearance can take 3–15 business days. During this time tracking may not update — customs doesn't always scan every action.
Reason 4: Wrong tracking service
AliExpress parcels often change carriers: first Cainiao in China, then national post, then a local courier. If you only use one carrier's tracker, you only see part of the journey.
Tip: Solution: use Trackora — it supports 1200+ carriers and automatically identifies the current carrier at each stage.
When to worry: timing table
| Situation | Normal | Start worrying |
|---|---|---|
| No updates after 'Label Created' | Up to 5 days | Over 7 days |
| Silence in international transit | Up to 20 days | Over 25 days |
| Customs delay | Up to 15 days | Over 20 days |
Note: AliExpress buyer protection maximum is 60 days from payment. Don't miss this deadline! Even if your parcel seems to still be on the way — it's better to open a dispute and negotiate with the seller than to lose your money.
